Description

The Quarry Loop Trail (recognizable at signposts with a green "blaze" and rock logo) starts from the Chapin Forest Reservation Quarry Shelter parking lot off of 306 on Park Road. The parking lot also accesses the Stonecutters Loop Trail and the 1,444 mile Buckeye Trail which loops around the state. The Quarry Loop has a relatively steep uphill for the first couple hundred feet from the parking lot and then mellows out. The southwest corner of the loop passes by a junction with the Turkey Trail and the Forest Shelter.

The trail is open to bikers and horses. Keep your eyes and ears open for bikers speeding along. If encountering horses, give them the right of way and step off the downhill side of the trail to allow the horse to pass. The trail is popular, so please be friendly and say "hi" to everyone else out enjoying the forest!
