Description

Pass the cow gate just north of Laughlin Ranch. The trail turns right and slowly ascends between hills on the left and right. Pass another cow gate after about 1.3 miles and make a sharp left turn. From this point on, the trail ascend more quickly but will also offer nice views of Livermore. The doubletrack turns into a singletrack and further ascends to Brushy Peak. Take a break and enjoy the view before you continue to descend on the west side. The trail makes two sharp left turns and crosses the dry wash of a creek before you reach West Side Loop Trail.

Flora & Fauna

There are numerous animals to be found, especially during the evening, including small critters, hares, rattlesnakes, toads, and birds.

Great little trail with beautiful views of rolling golden hills, a wind farm, and the town below. Ran into a coyote, birds, and ground squirrels.
