This is an easy trail that is educational for all ages.
Description
People of all ages who wish to learn about the host of tree species native to this part of North Carolina should take a trip down the Talking Tree Trail.
Starting at the parking area, the trail follows a joint path shared between the Talking Tree Trail, the
Talking Rock Trail, and the
Demonstration Trail for a short ways before branching off on the left.
Since the trails are self-guided, it doesn't really matter which way you go around the loop. But once you've made your decision, enjoy a pleasant tread traversing dense forest rife with pine and assorted hardwoods. Along the way, be sure to keep an eye out for signs marking native trees and providing interesting tidbits of information about them.
Once you've made your way around the loop, simply follow the joint trail you arrived on back out to your car.
