Description

Expect to scramble up this incredibly steep and rocky trail to Devil's Punchbowl, a stunning glacial cirque known as the crown jewel of the Siskiyou Wilderness. The turnoff from Doe Flat Trail after 2.8 miles is easy to miss; if you start on the switchbacks you've gone too far. The trail gains 1,300 feet in elevation over just over a mile. Camping and fires are discouraged at the lake due to minimum flat space and firewood and the sensitive alpine ecosystem.

Flora & Fauna

Incredible diversity of conifer species, many kinds of berries, hawks, and eagles.
