This hike is a hidden gem in the Pretoria, Olympus area. You'll forget every now and then that you are in a big city. It is safe, and the trails are well maintained. The last 5km is up and down and will test your legs.

Bring cash for the R35 entrance fee for adults. Make sure that you have enough water and food, it might take you longer that what you expect. Tickets are valid for one week

The hike start with a easy section on a jeep track. After about about 2 km you get off of the track onto the singletrack. The singletrack is technical at times, but it is manageable. You'll go over a few "koppies" with some very good views. At 5 km, you'll descend into a "kloof" which can be tricky, and you'll have to watch your footing. Follow the trail a the bottom of the kloof and slowly climb back to the jeep track at 8km. Enjoy of about 1km of easy jeep track before you get to the most technical part of the hike for the next 4km. Take your time and enjoy the challenge. You'll enjoy the last 1.4 km to the end with a easier section to finish out the hike.
