“This is a difficult-to-follow trail that resembles a game path through the forest.”
— Bill Corun
This short trail can be accessed (among other ways) via the Chickadee Trail
as part of a loop hike from the AT starting at the Old Forge Picnic Area. There are occasional red blazes along the route, but don't count on them. (Instead, you may want to bring the Hiking Project mobile app
with you to make sure you stay on course.) The trail can be best described as a singletrack through a mixed hardwood forest. We traveled it in mid-summer, and it looked more like a game trail at that point. In autumn, this trail will no doubt disappear underneath the blanket of leaves.
Flora & Fauna
Mixed hardwoods abound in this forest.
