While this is a short trail of just over a half mile, it is very pleasant and different from many of the other trails in Angkor. This trail takes you back to the Royal Palace ponds. There are two, the first being smaller than the second. There are steps leading to the water; however, you cannot swim here.

From the back of the Leper King Terrace, hike through the Royal Palace gate that has a dirt path going along the left side. Once you pass by the gate, you'll see the pools and the palace wall on the right. The trail goes either way as you loop around the far pool. I went in a clockwise direction so the wall will be on you left and pools on the right when you hike out. There are not many visitors back here to enjoy the view.
