An amazing hike from Wolkberg Hut to Cleo's Pools where you can enjoy a swim or a picnic before heading back to the hut.

Wolkberg Hut is property of the South African Mountain Club and can be used by members. It's a good place to park to start the hike, but to get there one needs to drive a bit and a 4x4 vehicle is needed.

This is not a marked trail as it's in a declared wilderness area, and not many people go there on a regular basis. Some parts of the hike are a bit rugged and steep. There is water along the trail, and it is plentiful. It's mostly open grasslands with fynbos mixed in between.

It took us about three hours to reach Cleo's Pools, where we spent the night. Be prepared with rain gear as the weather changes quickly up on the mountain. At the pools, you can take a swim and relax. There are some indigenous forest along the route to explore as well.
