Family Friendly A relatively short and gradual, self-guided nature trail; turn back at any point.

National Park rules and restrictions apply.

Description

Start at the Caprock Coulee trailhead/parking area. Sign in at the trail register and head right and then left down a short descent at the intersection with the Buckhorn Connector. Follow the trail along the bottom of the coulee along the self-guided trail.

At the end of the self-guided trail, either turn back the way you came or head left and cross a small bridge over a stream onto the Caprock Coulee Trail. If this section is wet the trail may be hard to follow. Generally head south until you find the wooden steps heading uphill.

Flora & Fauna

Bison! Deer, coyotes, mountain lion, longhorn cattle.
