Overview

The popular up-and-back route to the top of Mount Royal

Description

Mount Royal is a steep leg burner. The last major climb is very steep and good shoes with solid footing are strongly suggested. When you get to the top of the steep climbing, you'll hit the saddle. Make sure you turn right and keep going if you want to hit the true summit.

Great hike, but very steep with a lot of loose gravel. Took us 2hrs to go up, and about 45-50 to come down. Loved it! 4.2mi — 3h 09m
