Description

This trail branches off from the Spruceton Trail a little under 2.5 miles up from the parking area, or about a mile below the summit of Hunter Mountain. The trail heads north from Spruceton Trail for one mile. The first half a mile drops about 450 feet - keep in mind that this is an out-and-back so you'll have to regain that elevation. The elevation change stops at near an old quarry.

The second half mile is flat and easy going. There are a few old service/forest roads that branch off from the trail so be careful which route you take. Near the end of the trail, you'll come across the chairlifts for Hunter Mountain Ski Area. The slopes keep the views open through the dense forest. During the summer, the chairlifts act as zip lines but you'd need to get gear from the bottom of the slope...you'll need to hike out the way you came in.

If you've just climbed Hunter Mountain, you might feel a little jealous of the zip liners, as you'll have to hike down instead of zip.
