Description

This is a fairly flat trail that follows the Davidson River. It follows the old roadbed for FR 475. To access the trail, it's best to park at the Cove Creek Trail #340 trailhead parking. You can pick up the trail by just crossing the road.

The grade is very gentle and is mostly graveled. The Davidson River gorge is fairly scenic, but besides seeing the river, the trail is rather short and uneventful.

Sections of the trail washed away in the mid-2000s leaving this current 1.33-mile roadside trail. The trail will abruptly end into the road, so it's best to treat this as an out-and-back trail.
