“A short trail that passes through open prairies nearly its entire length - be ready for the Texas sun.
”
This trail begins a short distance along the 40 Acre Lake Trail, but can technically be started right from the parking area a tenth of a mile along.
From the parking area, head south to cross Park Road. The crosswalk is marked, but still be mindful of traffic. The trail will continue south for about tenth of a mile to where you'll encounter an observation deck. The trail turns slightly southeast to follow the park's fence line before making a sharp turn to the east.
Follow the southern fence line through open and sun-soaked prairie for less than a half mile. The trail then turns north and follows the fence line to the Live Oak Trail.
