Overview
This short loop isn't very difficult, but many hikers will still find it worthy of visiting. The area is scenic, and if you're looking for a place to escape the city, this can be a good option.
Description
The Sal Taylor Creek Preserve is 406 acres of primarily pine plantation, with areas of isolated wetlands and beautiful bottom lands around Sal Taylor Creek. There are approximately 4 miles of trails within the park, some being fairly wide former forest roads and other spur trails being narrower walking paths.
The
Main Trail runs about 2 miles, one way, from the trailhead to the bottom lands of Sal Taylor Creek. If you're looking for a shorter journey, this loop using the
North Spur Trail is a great option. Short and sweet, you get an idea of the longer trail, all on a shorter journey.
Flora & Fauna
Gopher Tortoise and Nine Banded Armadillo are the only possible sightings of wildlife on this trail.
