“A paved, urban pedestrian and biking trail from the city to Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.”— Sid D
Family Friendly While the full trail might be a bit much for most youngsters, taking parts of this path make for an excellent excursion for the whole family.
This is a paved urban trail running through a greenway as it cuts through the city of Indianapolis. The trail is great for running, hiking, and biking, though there are a few places which can be muddy after a rain. "Fort Ben" as it's locally known is a great reward at the end of the 10-mile trek.
Fort Benjamin has its own trail system and is an Indiana State Park. There is no attendant at the Fall Creek entrance, but a pass is required to visit the park. A day pass or yearly state park pass can be obtained at the main gate of the park which is a short ways from the Fall Creek entrance.
