Overview

A great race course loop in Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve. The loop follows a mix of cross-country ski trails and hiking trails. There are some steep climbs.
The north section is closed until late summer. If gates are closed then trails are closed.

Need to Know

The south section is open to horses and dog walking, so be aware.

Description

This hike is made up of many trails within Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve. The north section is wooded and follows cross-country ski trails. There are some steep climbs. Most of the trail is dirt or grass covered.

The south section is fairly open prairie with dirt trails. Many of the trails have grooves and hike like singletrack.

Surf the Murph has 25KM, 50KM and 50 Mile options and the race is 1, 2 or 3 laps of this course.

The course is mainly on official trails, but there are a few sections which veer off the main trails.
