Family Friendly The trails would be great for those interested in riding their bikes or pushing a stroller.

Overview

Both of the trails that make up Cedar Point are easy to navigate and are easy to hike even for the little ones!

Need to Know

Bring bug spray! I was overwhelmed with mosquitos the entire trip, although I went a week after the area received heavy rain. As a born and raised Florida girl, I am no stranger to the pesky, buzzing insects. However, the swarms of mosquitos made it difficult at times to enjoy the views!

Description

Both trails provide great shade to keep you cool during your outing. As it is a very wooded area, you may come across a limb or two that has fallen on the path. You can access the trail at the boat ramp but it is important that you time your visit with the tides. If the tide is high, you may get wet as you make your way towards that entrance of the trail! The boat ramp provides access to some great fishing spots in the region. Birdwatchers come to Cedar Point to see over 200 species of birds, including the beautiful painted bunting.

History & Background

Now preserved as a natural environment, the area was once subjected to agriculture during the plantation period of the 19th century, and management as a pine plantation during the 20th century.
