The trail begins in the San Diego Country Estates (SDCE) across from the Ace Hardware parking lot and immediately climbs onto a ridge, continuing across the base of Stone Mt. and paralleling San Vicente Rd. After going down a steep section and crossing a creek, the trail takes a hard left slightly after mile 1 before reaching the intersection of Ramona Oaks and San Vicente Rd.

Continue on an obvious trail up a small hill then into a creek-bed, staying left when possible. Take another left when the trail splits and continue up a steep but short hill, climbing out of the creek-bed at mile 2. The trail runs behind some houses on a ridge and then continues downhill into another creek-bed, crossing a street on the way. 100m after the road crossing take another hard left and follow the trail paralleling the creek and continue for about .75 miles to end where you started.

This trail is nothing particularly special compared to some of the amazing trails in the Cleveland National Forest surrounding the SDCE, however it is a valuable addition to a hike that begins in the development. It is a very well-maintained, fast trail that offers some respite from the heat in the shaded creek-bed sections.
