Does it get much better than hiking in the alps? No, no it doesn't.

Overview

This route puts you smack dab in the middle of Chamonix. Taking you to Lac Blanc, this trail is a must for anyone visiting the area. Take in the incredible views as you breathe in that fresh mountain air.
Features: Birding — Fall Colors — Lake — River/Creek — Spring — Swimming — Views — Wildflowers — Wildlife

Need to Know

Will need to purchase a gondola pass to the ride either up or down.

Description

A quick gondola ride, takes you to the start of the Grand Balcon Sud trail. Plenty of gondolas can place you pretty much anywhere along this mountain side you'd like to either lengthen or shorten your trek to Lac Blanc. This particular route takes you all the way to Lac Blanc and then all the way back down into town (right in front of a wonderful little cafe). Sure you can decide to take a gondola back at multiple points to quicken up your descent. How many time do you get to spend a day hiking in the alps though?
