Overview

Needs summary.
Features: River/Creek
Dogs: Leashed

Description

Started at Lake Cowichan. The trail is old railway tracks converted to a multiuse trail that does not allow motorized vehicles. The majority of the route is covered by tree canopy, with wildlife such as black bear, deer, and rabbits along the route. Running along the trail is a small creek and half way through, it passes alongside a pond/marsh.

The first 13km is a slight ascent then the remainder transitions into a slight descent. There are multiple road crossings with little traffic until you have to cross Lake Cowichan Road. There is one washroom 5km outside of Duncan, just before crossing Lake Cowichan Road. This is a good trail if you like to hike long distances with little change in elevation.

Flora & Fauna

Black bear, deer, and rabbits.
