Description

Enjoy access to dozens of pristine lakes and views of all seven devils from all angles! This trail starts at Windy Saddle and takes you over half way around the seven devils via the north and west slopes.

The trail drops off to the north at first, giving you access to Sheep Creek Trail. Then it heads west as it traverses the mountains to bring you to a saddle and junction of both the Dry Diggins Ridge Trail and the Bernard Lakes Trail. The trail then heads south to the Sheep Creek Lakes Trailhead. Next the trail veers west again to the Dry Diggins Lookout Trail. Heading south again the trail passes Little Granite Creek Trail and continues on to Echo Lake Trail. Winding all around the side of the mountain, the trail works it's way south to the Baldy Lake Trailhead. The trail continues south along the side of Potato Hill and Pyramid Mountain to end at the junction of Devil's Farm Trail, Black Lake Trail, and the South Boise Trail #101A .

For a great loop, take South Boise Trail #101A just 11.8 miles to Windy Saddle.

This trail provides near access and/or views (some with a short side trip) of the following lakes in the area:
  • Bernard Lakes
  • Lily Pad Lake
  • Basin Lake
  • Shelf Lake
  • Gem Lake
  • Sheep Lake
  • Echo Lake
  • He Devil Lake
  • Baldy Lake

Along your journey, take the time to visit some of these alpine gems, dip your toes, and appreciate the spectacular views afforded by the route!
