The longest loop featured at the Greenbush Campground, and makes for an excellent hike.

Features Fall Colors

Family Friendly While the full loop would be a bit much, out and back excursions are great for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Overview

This route is all singletrack trail, with a few long hills. This area is really pretty all times of year, but especially in the fall, when you can see so many colors in the leaves.

Description

This trail is really easy to follow, as it is marked throughout and is the outer and longer loop of several loops featured at the Greenbush Recreation Area. You'll go through mostly pine forests. The terrain in the area is variable, so enjoy the easy miles in between hilly sections. Like the name of the park hints, the hills were formed when the glaciers from the last glacial maximum retreated (the Ice Age Trail is nearby). You'll be in the shade most of the trail, which makes for pleasant hiking.

Flora & Fauna

I've never had any problems with poison ivy, but mosquitoes can be a nuisance, and make sure you check for ticks after you visit in the summer.

Ok, a little boring in some spots. Veered off on to green loop which was better. 5.3mi

not much verticality. pleasant hike, especially the older hardwood forest on the back half. the mosquitos near the marsh were predictably awful. 5.3mi
