Although strollers are permitted on the course, there are a couple of obstacles that will make it difficult.
The beginning and final 1.5 miles are similar to the REI Trail Run Series - Run by the Rio 5k
, with an additional 5k that continues deeper into the Rio Grande Bosque.
Features: Birding — Fall Colors — River/Creek — Views — Wildlife
The trail begins along a wide Levy Road just west of the bike-pedestrian trail. After mile 1.4, it turns into gravel road as it makes its way into the bosque. At mile 1.5, the course turns into singletrack. The trail will make its way between cottonwood forest and open air as it snakes its way along the Rio Grande for a 5k loop, returning to the gravel road at mile 4.7; soon after, the course returns to singletrack, winding its way through the bosque, and eventually returning to the Levy Road next to the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
