Closes at Dusk throughout the year and specific areas during controlled burn projects
Features: Birding — Fall Colors — Views — Wildflowers — Wildlife
Family Friendly: Open area where you can see anything from a Vole to a Beaver to a Bald Eagle and so many other animals here at the Riverside Natural Area

Description

This is the first trail out of the trailhead and is a nice rolling walk through a grass prairie. Red-winged Black Birds frequently sing to you as you walk, Deer or turkey may be around the next turn or maybe a harrier, hawk or kestrel will be flying overhead. The colors of the grasses and flowers are breath taking during the seasons of the year and can be enjoyed by all. You can walk trail one by itself or pick up trail 2 and walk deeper into the Riverside Natural Area for even more natural beauty.

Various Milkweed plants as well as prairie forbes.
