Town Hollow is surprisingly exciting and a good alternate descent to New Virginia.

Description

Town Hollow splits off of New Virginia (the Sheltowee Trace) and follows a quickly descending ridge past exposed sandstone ledges that used to be a steep vehicle road. And before you know it, you're into the valley cruising along an old dirt road past ancient oil infrastructure.

The only real drawback to this trail is that there are some large mudholes to bypass in the lower section.

An ascent from the valley back to the top would be an extremely hard climb, thought it would be possible. This is an old oil access road that is mostly unused now.
