Description

The Lost Pond Trail is a true gem located right near the hustle and bustle of Pinkham Notch and the AMC facilities.
From the parking area near the AMC Visitor Center, hop across the highway to find the entrance to the Lost Pond Trail on the other side. After finding the Ellis River, the trail navigates gorgeous mixed forests as it picks its way over a typical NH rocky and rooty tread. After putting you at peace with its gorgeous surrounds, the trail scenery reaches a climax as you crest a small climb and reach the phenomenal Lost Pond.

From the shoreline, take some time to stop and enjoy this pleasant forest oasis. When you're ready to depart, you can either return the way you came or continue south along the trail to reach the junction with the Wildcat Ridge Trail.

Flora & Fauna

Visit this area in the autumn to see it erupt in fiery fall color.
