Hike, trail run, or mountain bike in the San Juan Hills while enjoying ocean views.

Jared Gustafson

Overview

Out of the gate, well, actually at the gate, warm up with three low log hurdles, then it's a continuous climb to keep your heart rate elevated to the flag on Patriot Hill, give your quads a rest and start burning those hamstrings on the downhill. Easy to navigate so you can spend my time enjoying the long views.
Family Friendly: This is close to the road and you can go as far as everyone in the group wants to go.
Dogs: Leashed

Description

The San Juan Hills provide miles of trails for the hiker, mountain biker, or trail runner, all easily accessible.

This 7.5-mile loop gives 1,300 feet of elevation gain and provides panoramic views of Saddleback Mountain and the Pacific Ocean. This features hiking on the Flagpole Hill Trail, which takes you over Flagpole Hill where the American Flag stands above a great spot for views.
