There is parking at either end of the trail, so if you want to go one way and have two cars you can park one car at each end and start at either point. I recommend starting at Cold Spring Harbor; there are a lot of steep climbs (a little rocky so watch your footing), and then the trail will level out a bit after the first road crossing. A nice five mile hike one way, or go back to your starting point for a good workout of 10 miles!
