While the majority of hikers will call it a day at the summit of Roy Peak, this doesn't have to be the end of your adventure. If you are looking to complete the full Skyline Track route, simply follow the ridge line over to the summit of Mt. Alpha and then descend south toward Cadrona. You'll enjoy hiking through golden tussocks with splendid views as the track transitions to a 4WD track. As the track levels out, follow the poled route alongside Spotts Creek to Cardrona Valley Road.

Arrange a shuttle back to Wanaka or be prepared for a long day out to make this an out-and-back hike.
