Description
Lime Creek Trail is really two trails in one; the eastern half parallels the remote, forested Warm Springs Creek, while the western half climbs 3700' of sometimes steep singletrack. These two halves of the Lime Creek Trail are separated by a very steep trail that crosses Goldbug Ridge between Warm Springs and Lime Creeks..
The eastern Warm Springs Creek portion meanders gently through the woods. It is good "Salmon-style" backcountry trail. The trail here does not get much traffic but is narrow and can be overgrown where it crosses meadows. This trail can be traveled in either direction when coupled with the Twelvemile Meadow or North Basin Trails.
The western end of Lime Creek Trail climbs from the trailhead steadily before entering trees. The upper end of this trail switchbacks steeply to a saddle and fence. Should you continue from here, the trail switchbacks down 400' before meeting Warm Springs Creek.
