“Take the Mountains-to-Sea Trail along the Eno River from West Point to the Pump Station and back.”— Justin Paul
At Guess Road, cross under the bridge, head up to the road and cross the bridge, and then pick up the Laurel Bluffs Trail (East) in Eno River State Park (Yellow Blaze). The trail continues for another 2.5 miles along the river to the ruins of the old Durham Pump Station.
Once you reach the pump station, you can retrace your steps to make it back home.
