Description

This trail affords a well worn route to the summit of Mission Peak. From the summit, visitors will have great views of the bay to the west and north, and the hills off to the east. The approach from the south via the Horse Haven Trail is less traveled and not as steep, though getting to that approach is more challenging.

Connecting to the trail from the north via the Ohlone Wilderness / Hidden Valley Trail is the most popular route and has a steeper approach with a bit of mild scrambling about a half mile from the peak.

Planning to reach the summit at sunset is worth walking back in the dark. Bring a headlamp, water, sturdy footwear, and a good camera. 8mi
