Description

There are two entrances to the this trail from Yanceyville Rd. The one farther north has a small parking lot (2-3 cars max) at the Townsend Trail trailhead. The second is about .5 miles south and has a dirt parking lot off the road. The trails leading from each parking area will meet together about .5 miles into the trip on a ridge.

The trail then winds along the south shore of Lake Townsend and the swamp-like wetlands. Approx. 2 miles in there is a foot bridge over some wetlands before heading back into the woods. A few hills and ridges take you to the end where the trail meets N. Church St.
