Beautiful, somewhat challenging hike/run to Squaw Peak.

Overview

Features: Views — Wildlife

Description

Near the Provo Temple, follow Rock Canyon Trail until it forks. Going left (north) on Squaw Peak Trail, it wraps around the mountain, taking you through some decent climbs and beautiful views of Mt. Timpanogos. It's worth spending some time at the top, taking in the view of mountains you just can't see from the valley.

Flora & Fauna

Within an hour or so of finishing this hike/run, a cat was sighted near Rock Canyon Trailhead, which is not unusual for this area.

Snowy, Some Mud, Icy - There's some icy snow right before the summit. The snow melt is making parts of the trail muddy. It's not that bad though
