Description

This trail has some nice climbing like the East Bluff Trail, but stays entirely in the woods without views of the lake and bluff structures along the lake. So why use this trail? This trail has many nice features. First, it provides a way to make a loop out of an East Bluff Trail trek. Second, in winter, the East Bluff Trail can become dangerously icy, so this is usually a safer way to get up on top of the East Bluff basin ridge to the south from the North Shore Parking Lot in such conditions. Finally, this trail usually stays quiet compared to the East Bluff Trail, which is extremely popular among park visitors.
