Description

From the Scenic Trail, you'll head west onto this trail. After a quarter mile of desert hiking, you'll start to climb through loose rocks and gain significant elevation until you reach the saddle of the mountain.

From there you'll leave the well-blazed trail and have the opportunity to do a little more scrambling up the eastern side of Safford Peak. While short, this trail is strenuous, especially at the end. Don't worry, your efforts won't be in vain, as the desert views from the top are well worth it!
