Description

This is one of two loops around the western grounds of the Washington County Career Center in Marietta. Park in the back left parking lot, and the trailhead is in the very back.

The trail starts with a steep descent into the valley, then flattens out, crosses a stream, and heads back up. (At the bottom of the hill, you can take a short linear spur to the left that extends to the old grindstone quarry.) At the northernmost point, the trail opens up to make visible a creek and huge, open cave. It may be a short journey, but it is not lacking in Appalachian terrain and awesome views!
