“A nice singletrack trail between Elkwallow Gap and Matthews Arm Campground.”— Larry W. Brown
Features Birding · Fall Colors · Views · Wildflowers · Wildlife
Family Friendly One of many options in the area, this is a great trail for visitors to the picnic area to stretch their legs.
Starting from the Elkwallow Trailhead, east of Elkwallow Wayside, the trail climbs abruptly but don't worry, most of the trail is fairly gradual, heading up and over an easy hill. The final push to the Matthews Arm Campground requires one last effort.
Elkwallow Wayside is a great spot for groceries to pack a lunch or snacks for the trail.
