Update

A short, strenuous singletrack loop showcasing Rocks State Park.

Overview

If you park at the Rock Bridge Picnic area, a day use fee applies. Parking at the park office saves you the fee, but parking there is more limited.
Features: Birding — Views
Dogs: Leashed

Description

This 2.2 mile loop feels longer than it is. It is excellent singletrack - clearly signed, blazed, and well-maintained. Budget enough time for a stop at the King and Queens Seat overlook, a 190 foot Schist outcropping overlooking Deer Creek Gorge. It is a popular destination for hikers and rock climbers alike. The trail can be accessed from the park office (on Knopp Road), or from the Rock Ridge Picnic area by taking the Red Trail 0.2 mi. in either direction (access from St. Clair Bridge Road).

Flora & Fauna

Typical of eastern deciduous forest. Highlights include red raspberries in July and a particularly loquacious Wood Thrush.

Nice trail with steep inclines/declines, lots of rocks, high elevations and of course the king and queen seat which is a 200' Rock cliff over creek.
