Closed during mud season, and in winter.
Short but sweet, this trail is a great, intermediate warm up. A little steeper than Sparky
, but not as long as the Highpoint Trail
, Sidewinder is right in the middle. The trail surface is mostly clear, and there are few obstacles, which make it a fun trail.
Originally created with mountain bikes in mind, this trail features some cool banked turns that hikers can really have fun with. Not your average foot-traffic trail, this one is fun both on the way up, and on the way down.
Combined with Sparky
and the Highpoint Trail
, this trio makes up Phase 1 of construction of the Watershed Crest Trail, a great longer-distance trail under construction in 2015.
Flora & Fauna
Visitors will be treated to gorgeous alpine flora including spruce, fir, beargrass and huckleberries.
