Description

The Ridge View Trail is a great option for a short out-and-back hike if you are looking for a quick hike to a nice view. The trail can be accessed from the Hope Camp Trail shortly after the Hope Camp Trail leaves the Camino Loma Alta Trailhead; look for the trail on your left.

From the start, the trail is all uphill, but the path is wide and the grade is steady and gentle, climbing gradually up to the trail's end where you can enjoy a scenic view of the rocky side canyons of Tanque Verde Ridge. Once you have taken in the view, head back down the way you came.

Flora & Fauna

The park is home to black bear, white-tailed deer, mountain lion, and coati, along with hundreds of birds, reptiles, insects, and amphibian species.
