Description

This trail can be accessed from trailheads in both the Wheeler Peak and Upper Lehman Creek Campgrounds. It passes through diverse habitats, paralleling Lehman Creek for parts of the trail. The trail has a lot of switchbacks eventually running through a valley along the base of Wheeler Peak. It has occasional logs blocking the trail, and there is plenty of uneven rocky terrain.

Flora & Fauna

Wildflowers can be enjoyed along this trail in the June and July time frame, which is spring in this area. Deer, turkeys, and a wide variety of birds can be seen and heard along this trail.
