Description

This is a very pleasurable loop around much of the Blue Mound terrain feature. It is a fairly easy trail, with relatively easy grade, except for a steeper section near the western portion of the trail that climbs stairs up toward the western lookout tower, where one can get spectacular views of the Wisconsin River Valley and Barneveld, WI.

The trail is wide (almost a doubletrack) and usually very navigable year round. It is even relatively dry during the heavy snowmelt portion of late winter/early spring due to good drainage and many sections of the trail being covered by stones.
