Hardpacked singletrack of moderate difficulty in Elachee Nature Center.

Blake Jarvis

Overview

Features: Fall Colors — Lake
Dogs: Leashed

Description

This trail is very similar to the West Lake Trail in the Elachee Nature Center trail complex, in that it is hardpack singletrack winding throughout moderately open woods. This trail either begins or ends near Reservoir One, and crosses Walnut Creek multiple times. Beautiful bridges facilitate the crossings, and the trail winds through old-growth forest, providing an enchanted feeling.

While bikers and those on horseback aren't permitted, large groups of school children are frequently using the trails as part of field trips. Due to the high traffic, dogs aren't permitted on the trails between 9am-3pm Monday-Friday, but are invited on-leash during the rest of the operating hours of the park.
