Overview

Though the trail is quite steep, the well-maintained path is quite easy to follow and can be used year-round.

Description

Amazing views at the top and a really engaging trail, especially the scramble to the top. The trail is not that long, but the steep grade makes it much harder.

Begin at the parking area off Wasatch Blvd. The trail immediately starts climbing quite steeply up the ridge. It switchbacks frequently up Tolcats Canyon, crossing the drainage about 1.8 miles in. Here the trail get gruelingly steep as it heads up the drainage. Once you pop out of the forest the final push to the summit is steep and there are a few steep drop-offs. Be on your game as you scramble to the top. Once you're at the summit however, the views of the valley below are incredible.

Micro spikes recommended but not essential if you are okay with your hands in the snow. Almost everything after the stream is snowy 8mi — 5h 49m
