Getting forecast...

I enjoyed this hike. The views of the Lakes Basin are spectacular along the trail, and at the top of Mammoth Mountain. It would be quite challenging to go from Twin Lakes to the summit of Mammoth Mountain. I hiked from the top of Mammoth Mountain (which requires a hiker ticket for the gondola). It is pretty steep and I recommend good shoes and/or poles. It's so weird to think that this entire area is covered with 6+ feet of snow with people skiing above it. Sep 4, 2015
