This trail has a little bit of everything--paved trails, crushed stone sections, bridge crossings, residential areas, woods, and more. It links up with the Cameron Run Park Trail and gives you quite an experience through Alexandria, VA. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest, a drink, or to play soccer as you pass through a number of park areas. It basically follows Holmes Run, which fills pretty quickly right after a storm.

This is a good trail to bring the family on as there are a number of places to stop at playgrounds, which could help break up a hike for the younger set.
