A fairly flat trail at Coopers Rock State Park that parallels the road though still feels peaceful.

Description

Start at the parking lot at the start of the road leading into Coopers Rock State Park. The trail starts beside the boarded up restroom and climbs immediately. It will be rocky and possibly muddy, but this is the worst of it.

Soon after the mud, take a right at the intersection and shortly take a left (continuing straight leads into a grassy area). Climb a short hill and cross the road where the trail will wind up to your left. Now you'll parallel the main road, though it oftentimes isn't visible. Just before 3 miles, you'll cross a paved road and enter the Coopers Rock overlook parking and picnic area where the trail soon ends.

Fairly easy hike. Pretty and peaceful forest...even for a trail that largely parallels a road. Great day hike if you have a tot in a pack or walking.
