One of many loop connectors to add variety to your Dale Ball hike. This is a nice singletrack trail clinging to the side of the mountain. It descends to the right at the first intersection (Number 30) from the Cerro Gordo Trailhead. This connector goes down a bit then contours around on nice firm hardpack when dry and can be a bit slippery after a rain or in the snow. After a 1/2 mile of contouring the trail climbs to intersection 31 where you can take a .1 mile side trail to the top of a small hill overlook.
