Love this trail, is great in the hot weather as a lot of it is shaded. Easy for strollers as it is paved. Mar 25, 2018

We biked the Terrapin State Park Trails and the connected Kent Island Cross-Island Trail on the morning of July 1st. ~2 miles and ~5 miles respectively. Arrive early to get parking in the Terrapin Park Lot (it is small) otherwise, you can park just outside the gates. (no fee to enter or park). Porto Johns are in the lot The Terrapin Park trail was hard gravel/dirt mix and soft sand in the beach areas (not bike friendly). You can swim off sections of the beach in the park. On the Cross-Island trail, we stopped at the Chesapeake Heritage & Visitor Center to check out the museum, get some area info and to cool down. findyourchesapeake.com/plac… The cross-island trail is a flat blacktop surface connected to Terrapin Park trail. You will ride through long sections of shade cover in the woods and it had some great water views when you cross several wide wooden bridges that spanned some tidal wetlands. Jul 5, 2018
